Privacy Policy
NumberTag (“we”, “us”) is a privacy-first caller ID and community anti-spam app. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we do not access
- Your Contacts address book
- Call history or CallKit call logs
- SMS / iMessage content
- Precise GPS location
What we process
- Phone numbers you search or tag — to return caller ID and community warnings. Successful lookups are also logged on our servers (number, approximate country/IP, and install id) so we can operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve results.
- Optional tags, names, and spam reports you submit — stored to help other users. Submissions are not linked to your Apple ID.
- Install identifier — a random ID on your device (Keychain) used for abuse prevention and optional per-install settings. It is not your Apple UDID.
- Approximate network location — country derived from your IP at our edge (Cloudflare), for dial defaults and optional regional settings. Not GPS.
- App diagnostics — version, locale, and similar technical fields when the app registers with our API.
- Purchases — handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
On-device data
Your in-app Recent list, favorites, personal notes, and local block lists stay on your device (and optional App Group shared with the Call Directory extension). They are not uploaded as a contact book. Separately, numbers you look up via our API may be retained in our server-side search log as described above.
Sharing
We use Cloudflare to host our API and website. Directory name lookups may query third-party directory providers with the number you searched. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Community tags and reports are kept while useful for caller ID. You can request modification or removal of community-submitted data via support@numbertag.app.
Children
NumberTag is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
